our team

we take our food + drink a lot more seriously than we take ourselves

LEIGH RASKIN - CEO (Chief Eventide Officer)

Leigh was owner-operator of a Duck favorite for 7 years before it turned into Eventide. Along with slices she served up warmth, friendliness, and genuine excitement to feed people. Wave customers loved her as much as they loved the food. As the founding partner behind Eventide she pairs that same heart with a passion for food, honed during extensive travels around the Mediterranean.

An admitted cheese addict, her favorite beer at the moment is anything sour. Leigh juggles her time between Eventide, The Blue Point, and herding 4 kids - - 2 human, 2 canine. A DIY enthusiast she’s current working on an ambitious home makeover.

JAMIE RASKIN - The Wine Guy

The youngest Raskin is both the best dressed and the only one who’s a certified Sommelier with a Master’s in Wine Management from the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Napa Valley. His whole career has been in hospitality on the Outer Banks and in New York City. Working everywhere from luxury hotels to neighborhood favorite restaurants to speakeasies to fine dining establishments, including locals’ favorites Kimball’s Kitchen and of course our sister restauant The Blue Point, where he aptly runs the beverage program.

A native southerner with the secret heart of a New Yorker, his guilty pleasure beverage is Pabst Blue Ribbon. He knows far more about Harry Potter than any adult human should.

RYAN RASKIN - Hospitality Obsessive

Ryan developed his passion for cooking as a child standing along side his chef father in his parents kitchen. With a deep affection for great food he’s become the test kitchen guru and the force behind our creative specials. He’s worked every position in the restaurant industry up and down the east coast, eventually settling back in the Outer Banks with his kombucha mothers and endless ideas for dishes and drinks.

When he’s not overseeing The Blue Point or gardening with his pup Rhuby (short for Rhubarb) you might find him sipping on a fine Rye whiskey - - and he’s never met an ingredient he didn’t try to confit.

APRIL FORBES - Master of Suds

April works with Leigh to keep Eventide humming with happy noshers. She has worked in hospitality all of her adult life — including 5 years at Wave Pizza Café, where she and Leigh honed their working partnership - - and has a passion for craft beer with an emphasis on smaller independent brewers. She’s currently working towards her Cicerone certification (think “Sommelier of Beer”). A local designer, she is the owner of The Blue Moth Studio and the artist behind our fantastic chalkboards.

Although she can’t choose just one beer style she favors over the rest, she’ll never pass up an Oak Aged Flanders Red Ale. A marbling aficionado, her artful wares can be found in markets up and down the beach.
